B Best Ranger Build

Ranged DPS · Free · Knight + Ranger (early) → Priest + Ranger + Sorcerer

Free ranged starter with steady damage. A solo Ranger build works late-game (attack speed, crit, first-hit, sustain).

The strongest and most cost-effective DPS in the game, and the most-played hero in community polls. Rapid Fire scales off ATTACK SPEED, not cooldown, so attack-speed gear is a direct damage multiplier. A solo geared Ranger can cheese most of the content, including clearing 3-9 Torment alone, everything except the boss.

Overview

Ranger is free and the most-played class in community polls (about 30% of votes). She is widely considered the strongest and most cost-effective DPS in the game. Tier lists often rank her only B because her base AoE range is limited, but that ranking is misleading. In an actual team, behind a tank and buffed by a Priest, she is a top-tier carry. She is also the rare hero who can go solo: a geared Ranger can cheese most of the content by herself, including clearing 3-9 Torment alone, everything except the boss. Her base attack speed of 1.00 is the highest among starters, and as you will see, the stat package around it is the whole build.

Stat Priority

Stack raw Attack Damage, both flat and percentage, then Attack Speed, Projectile Damage, and Movement Speed. Her signature Rapid Fire triggers off attack cadence rather than a cooldown, so attack speed acts as a damage multiplier instead of a flat add. Ignore crit entirely. Crit was reworked into a proc that is hard to push toward 100%, her tree has almost no crit nodes, so crit is a trap for her. Do not stack HP, cooldown, armor, or cast speed either. Some community numbers, all unverified: wave mobs cap around 52,000 HP, about 20,000 per hit kills the toughest mob in 2 to 3 shots, or you can stack toward 50,000 per hit to one-shot. At around 6.3 Attack Speed even 10,000 per hit clears a mob in under a second.

Skills & Leveling

For farming and wave clear, the main pair is Rapid Fire + Piercing Arrow. There is a leveling wrinkle though. Before about level 30 she does not have the attack speed to lean on Rapid Fire, so she plays as a caster ranger using the cooldown skills Scatter Shot + Arrow Rain. In that early window stack Attack Damage and cooldown, and attack speed matters less. Around level 30 you switch to the Rapid Fire build and attack speed becomes the priority. For single-target and boss damage, run Swift Surge + Rapid Fire. Plan the second skill slot (50,000 gold) so she can carry a wave-clear skill and a focus skill at the same time, and respec between farm and boss as needed. Community endgame skill-point priority (build by MyGamerAcademia; ordering is single-source, unverified). Spend points first to last in this order: 1. Rapid Fire and Piercing Arrow, your active skills 2. Projectile Speed 3. Attack Speed 4. Flat Damage 5. Movement Speed 6. Life Leech 7. Crit Chance and Crit Damage 8. Dodge Rate, last Max the two active skills before touching anything else, then build out the offensive and mobility passives down the list. Dodge Rate comes last because the build does not try to survive hits in Torment, it tries to out-speed and out-damage them.

Gear & Materials

She uses a Bow + Arrow. An Immortal bow is enough. Here is the math that matters: by one community comparison (unverified), an Immortal bow does about 18,500 damage and an Arcana bow about 20,000, and both one-shot, so the 65 Arcana bow at roughly ten times the price is not worth it. Use a legendary Arrow offhand. Helmet and body armor barely matter for her, so do not waste resources there. Put your stat budget into Movement Speed on boots and accessories. One creator reached 6,423 Movement Speed (unverified) running this. Slot decorations via the Hero-dric Cube, climb rarities with Synthesis, and check the item database for the best bow bases at your level. Endgame Torment, F2P Arcana variant (community build by MyGamerAcademia, published 2026-06-22; figures marked unverified are single-source community data). For an endgame Torment build, go full glass cannon. Take off the helmet and body armor: you get one-shot in Torment regardless, so there is no point carrying defensive slots. Lean everything into speed and damage instead. Weapons: run a Limitless Bow (or a Shadow Bow if you do not have it yet) together with a Dimensional Arrow. Slot physical-damage-percent decorations and engravings (amethyst) wherever you can. Gloves: use immortal Dimension gloves. Their inherent stats beat the Arcana version, which is a known gear quirk (unverified). Boots: Arcana Dimensional boots, for maximum movement speed. Accessories: an Ethereal amulet, earring and ring, all stacked with pure movement speed. The amulet additionally lowers how many auto-attacks it takes to trigger Rapid Fire and Piercing Arrow. Two notes from community testing (unverified): movement speed has a soft cap around 7000, above which the game engine breaks and the hero bugs out, so do not over-stack past it. And physical-damage decorations apply to your auto-attacks, not only to skills, so they are worth far more than they first look.

Team & Positioning

Ranger sits in the back line and needs a front-liner to protect her. Early that is Knight + Ranger. Once you have Priest, the Speed Farmer comp Priest + Ranger + Sorcerer is the strongest free farm team, with Ranger as the core single-target DPS between the Priest's front presence and the Sorcerer's AoE. Never field her solo-front, because she is fragile and folds without a tank or front-holding Priest. If you do run her alone for fast farming, put her in the last formation slot. That keeps her out of the front row at wave start, where a stray ranged enemy can sometimes one-shot her before she fires.

Runes & Progression

Like everyone, her power spikes when you open the third hero slot (150,000 gold) and her second skill slot (50,000 gold). The Rune Tree unlocks at level 3. Take Rune of War, then Rune of Growth, then Rune of Command to reach the slots. Fund these with Alchemy gold and efficient farming before sinking gold into endgame Rune Tree nodes, which can run into the millions.

Farming vs Boss

Farming wants Rapid Fire + Piercing Arrow and raw Attack Damage plus attack speed to delete waves on gold stages such as 2-7 Hell or, later, 3-9 Torment. A solo geared Ranger can clear 3-9 Torment on her own, everything up to the boss. Bosses want Swift Surge + Rapid Fire for sustained single-target damage, which is what the X-10 Soul Stone act bosses demand. Keep one Soul Stone in reserve from the item database of materials before each boss attempt.

Common Mistakes

Do not stack crit. Crit was reworked into a proc that is hard to push toward 100%, her tree has little crit, and going for it costs you the stats that actually carry. Do not stack HP, cooldown, armor, or cast speed either. Do not overspend on a 65 Arcana bow when an Immortal bow already one-shots, and do not waste resources on helmet or body armor that barely move her numbers. Do not run her solo-front, because she needs protection, and when soloing put her in the last formation slot so a stray ranged enemy cannot one-shot her at wave start. And do not farm offline expecting drops, since chests only come from active play, so short active sessions beat long idle ones for her gear.
