S Best Priest Build
Support / Healer · Free DLC · Priest + Ranger + Sorcerer
Free DLC healer/buffer and the core of long pushes. Add it when deaths interrupt farming.
Free DLC, and easily one of the most valuable classes in the game. People label her a healer, but that sells her short. She is a tank, a healer, a buffer, and a real damage source all at once. Blessing of Might buffs the whole party's damage, so she pays for herself on any team, and she is very often the hidden carry of the mid and late game.

Overview
Priest is a free DLC class. Claim it from the Steam store tab immediately, it costs nothing. People file her under healer, but her real role is much bigger than that. She is a tank, a healer, a buffer, and a damage source all in one. She is very tanky and will hold the front by herself, which is why every tier list rates her S or A+ and calls her mandatory in the late game. She is also the hidden carry on a lot of teams. It is common to watch your Ranger or Slayer die first while the Priest is still standing and still healing. Her standout skill is Blessing of Might, a party-wide damage buff that many players call the single best skill in the game. It boosts the whole party's damage by roughly 90%, and some players report it pushing as high as ~140% with the right setup. That is what lets a cheap budget Ranger or a legendary Sorcerer clear content they could not touch on their own. She multiplies your whole team's output instead of just keeping it alive.
Stat Priority
Cooldown Reduction is her top stat so heals and buffs never gap, with Cast Speed close behind. Then Healing Increase to make each Heal land harder. After that, stack HP and tankiness hard, because she lives on the front line. Max HP, Armor, and Damage Absorption all carry their weight, and Damage Absorption is especially strong on her. Her armor, like everyone's, stops mattering at the 75% damage reduction cap, so balance it with raw HP (see the mechanics FAQ). One big detail: her skill tree hands her capped elemental resistance for free, so her gear can go almost pure HP without worrying about fire, cold, or lightning res. The tree does not give chaos resistance, though, so add chaos res from gear to cover that hole. She also gets about 30% block chance for free, and a block halves the incoming hit, which stacks beautifully with Damage Absorption. Community numbers put her around 4,200 HP plus block and absorption surviving 2 to 3 hits at 3-9 Core of the Abyss difficulty (unverified). A solid level-70 spread is roughly Cooldown Reduction 10/10, Increased Heal 10/10, Max HP 8/8, Armor 8/8 and Cast Speed 10/10.
Skills & Leveling
Early on, run Heal (it restores 18% of the target's max HP on an 8s cooldown) plus Blessing of Might. Around level 21-30, once you have enough Cooldown Reduction, swap Heal for Sanctuary, a field that restores 30 HP/sec to allies on a 17s cooldown. At level 51 many builds move to Wrath of Heaven for a hybrid damage profile. One thing to know before you gem it: Wrath of Heaven scales off raw Attack only. Community testing found it does not scale with lightning or physical damage, so lightning and elemental gems are wasted on it. Stack Attack and Attack Speed instead and the skill hits much harder. Blessing of Might (and the stronger Blessing of Strength, ~90% party damage) needs the second skill slot at 50,000 gold. Make it a top priority so she can carry a heal and a buff at once. Blessing of Warding, the resistance buff, is niche and usually skippable, since she and a Sorcerer are already resistance-capped without it.
Gear & Materials
A common setup is Hero Scepter + War Tome + Crystal Helmet. Prioritize Cooldown Reduction and Cast Speed rolls, then survivability. For the weapon, an Immortal level 65 piece with a leech line keeps her topped up while she fronts. Pick the War Tome for Damage Absorption, which feeds straight into her tankiness. On the helmet, chase skill duration. Community testing puts about 70% skill duration as enough to push Wrath of Heaven near 100% uptime. If you can find one, a Celestial Scepter is community-rated as broken, because its auto attacks cast heals on your allies, so she heals just by attacking. A Coral Piece adds HP Leech on top. Slot Cooldown / Cast Speed decorations through the Hero-dric Cube and climb rarities with Synthesis, recycling the leftovers via Alchemy for gold. Because she stands in melee, give her some movement speed too, so she gets to the front first and grabs aggro, plus HP Regen and Armor so she can off-tank. Community-reported numbers have her hitting around 16,000 per auto with buffs up (unverified). Browse the item database for high-rarity scepters and tomes.
Team & Positioning
In the strongest free farm team she takes slot 1 and holds the front herself (Priest + Ranger + Sorcerer), where her Blessing amplifies both ranged DPS at once. On safer setups she sits behind a Knight in the Vanguard Trio. Either way she is the support pillar, but treat her as more than support. She is tanky enough to be the actual front wall, and she often outlives the dedicated carries. Teams routinely lose the Ranger or Slayer in a tough fight while the Priest keeps standing. She is the only healer in the game, so never field a team without her once she's unlocked, and don't bury her in the back where her tank presence and melee aggro are wasted. Give her a little movement speed so she reaches the front first and pulls the enemies onto herself.
Runes & Progression
Rush the Rune Tree toward formation slots. The third hero slot is 150,000 gold, and you also want her second skill slot (50,000 gold) so she can run Blessing plus a heal. The Rune Tree opens at level 3. Take Rune of War, then Rune of Growth, then Rune of Command for slots. Fund it with Alchemy gold and efficient farming. This unlocks her full kit far faster than dumping gold into Synthesis early. Once Blessing of Might is online her value spikes, since that one buff is what lets budget DPS punch above their gear. Pair the rune progression with the gear plan above so her resistances stay capped from the tree while her gear pours into HP and chaos res.
Farming vs Boss
For farming, Sanctuary's passive field healing lets the team tank dense stages while Ranger and Sorcerer clear. It's ideal for grinding gold stages like 2-7 Hell or pushing high-EXP stages such as 3-9 Core of the Abyss. Her own tankiness matters here too, since she soaks the front so the backline never gets touched. For bosses, lean on Cooldown Reduction so Heal and Sanctuary never drop, keep Resurrection ready, and let her block and Damage Absorption eat the boss's heavy swings. Push the X-10 Soul Stone bosses freely. Soul Stones are only consumed on a successful clear, so a failed attempt costs you nothing.
Common Mistakes
Don't skip claiming the free Priest DLC. Many new players never see it in the Steam tab. Don't run her without the second skill slot, because without Blessing of Might active you throw away her single biggest contribution, the buff that lets the rest of the team clear above their gear. And don't gear her as a pure backliner. She is a real tank and she charges into melee, so she needs HP, Armor, HP Regen, and a bit of movement speed to reach the front, hold it, and keep healing. Don't waste her gem slots on elemental damage for Wrath of Heaven. It scales off raw Attack only, so lightning and elemental gems do nothing for it. Stack Attack and Attack Speed for the skill, and put her other gem slots into HP and chaos resistance, since the skill tree already caps her elemental res. And don't bother forcing Blessing of Warding when she and a Sorcerer are already res-capped, it's usually a wasted slot.
